Not long after, Terry and the tall man came to a river. Many people were swimming in the river. But Terry thought it best to take the ferry to the other side. "My mom would discipline me if I got all wet," he said. "But I would quite like having a bath myself." The ferry-man wore a crown on his head, so Terry asked him: "Is it your birthday also, seeing as how you have a party hat and all?" The ferry-man replied: "No. I am the one who weeps," and put on a sour face. "Don't be such a grinch," said Terry. "This is a happy day."
